2. Principle
Protostar does not require a user account. We do not collect any personal data ourselves and do not operate our own servers for the game. Save games and settings are stored only locally on your device and are deleted when you uninstall the app.
3. Advertising (Google AdMob)
The app may display ads via Google AdMob, a service of Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland. Google may process, among other things:
- your device’s advertising ID
- IP address and approximate location
- information about your device, operating system and the app
- information about which ads were shown and tapped
On first launch we ask, via Google’s consent dialog (User Messaging Platform), whether you agree to personalised ads. Legal basis is your consent under Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR and § 25(1) TDDDG. Without consent, only non-personalised ads are shown. You can change your choice at any time in the app settings. Video ads are optional and only play when you start them yourself.
Google may transfer data to countries outside the EU, in particular the USA. Google is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. More: Google Privacy Policy and How Google uses information from apps.
You can reset or delete your advertising ID in the Android settings under Google → Ads.
4. “Ad-free” purchase
Ads can be removed with a one-time purchase, processed entirely via Google Play. We do not receive any payment data, only confirmation that the purchase belongs to your Google account.
5. Google Play
You use Google Play for downloads, updates and crash reports; Google’s privacy policy applies. Crash reports you send to Google Play via Android are visible to us in anonymised form.
6. Children
Protostar is not directed at children under 13.
7. Your rights
You have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection, and to withdraw consent at any time with effect for the future. An informal message to the email address above is sufficient. You may also lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority, for example:
